Aaron Mitchell

Aaron has a Master's degree in Education from Portland State University and earned his Initial Administrator License through the University of Portland. This is his seventh year teaching at Mt. Scott. Prior to joining the staff at Mt. Scott, Aaron spent two years at another alternative school in Portland teaching a variety of subjects.

Aaron grew up in SE Portland and values the rich learning opportunities the community provides. His teaching is laden with cross-subject integration and opportunities for peer teaching. Aaron believes that each student can become an expert in any field they study if given the tools to do so.

Beyond his passion for teaching, Aaron is also an avid athlete. He regularly participates in local soccer leagues and enjoys running and weight lifting. Additionally he was previously a semiprofessional dodgeball player and is a former Guinness world-record holder for kickball.
